Welcome to our Buyers info page.

But first why buy from Tanjar ?
Registered Stud breeders with ASSBA SINCE 2010
Registered and Founding Stud members with AABMGS SINCE 2016

Thanks for considering us Hope the following information helps all interested Babydoll Sheep enthusiasts with
the purchase of these adorable little sheep.

If you here for breeding pairs, coloured sheep, appendix ewes or pet Wethers whatever your after we hope we can supply some adorable lambs for you.
As you can imagine we have lots of enquiries and not enough lambs to supply, due to the increasing interest in this adorable breed.

Babydoll Southdown's are seasonal breeders, so they tend to come into estrous in March and breed thru till May/June.

So, what to expect when buying a breeding pair?
For buyers just starting out we can recommend pairs that are best suited based on unrelated pedigrees in these cases not all lambs will be available for you. (Smaller selection to pick from) But you are of course welcome to purchase any sheep you would like for your own personal programs.

What to expect once lambs or lambs have been chosen?
I
f you are purchasing lambs with AABMGS papers you are free to pick your own names Our stud prefix will go first followed by whatever name, you would like to give them. The registrar of AABMGS will send you your papers directly this is for members and non-members of AABMGS if you are a member, we just require your membership numbers for the paperwork.

If you are breeders or intend to become breeders of ASSBA Babydoll you will need to tell us this before selection to make sure you receive the correct paperwork also. AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2020

All lambs on the For sale Members only page will have all the details of which registry they are in and full Pedigree.

Lambs' management
EAR TAGS: All lambs will have a ear tag year of birth. Lambs will have a micro chipped RFID chip Tag that can be read with a RFID scanner as well as visually.

VACCINE: Lambs will have received their 1st dose of vaccination of Ultra vac 5 in 1 for the prevention of clostridial diseases (2nd dose will only be given if its four-Six weeks after first dose and before transport) if its due after transporting their 2nd dose will be the responsibility of the buyers.

TAILS: We ring and or Hot tail our lambs using our Vet recommended practices, we administer Pain relief for these procedures using a vet prescribed pain relief product. We aim for tails to be fallen off before transport but sometimes this is not possible so lambs may be sent with tails still in the falling off time period.

WORMS: Wormed with either Q-Drench,Tridectine oral or Closantal (depending on the seasonal worms).
Although your lambs have been wormed with the recommended doses, WA has barbers pole worm, although your lambs were treated before transport but as the wormers available in Australia are not 100 % effective and will not eliminate all worms it is recommended all lambs be quarantined and rewormed by new owners on uptake.

Lice: Lambs will also be treated for Lice using Extinosad or Spurt upon shearing of the mothers mid-September

CLIKZIN: Depending on the time of the year lambs may have been treated with Clikzin for blow fly treatment.

WETHERS: Wethers will have been castrated using the ring method, Pain relief is administered at time of castration using a vet prescribed pain relief product. We aim for their Testies to have fallen off before transport if this hasn't happened Wethers will be sent with their dried but not yet fallen of ball sack still attached.
